Dear Senior Students and Parents,

I hope that you are having a safe and happy summer! As promised, I will be holding a free Common Application workshop on the following dates and times (students only need to attend one workshop):

August 20: 6-8pm (room 224)
August 21: 9-11am (room 224)
August 22: 9-11am (room 224)

To get the most out of the workshop, students should come prepared with the following information about BOTH parents (required by the Common Application):

Full names, marital status and mailing addresses
Country of birth
Preferred email addresses and phone numbers
Parent occupations (former occupation, if retired or deceased) and employment status
Position/Title (former position, if retired)
Name of current employer
Each parent’s education level, degrees earned, and colleges attended
Students should also come with their SAT and/or ACT scores, test dates, and College Board login information.

Please note that we will not be completing the essay portion of the Common Application during the workshops. Students should be working on their college essays at home over the summer. Essays should be proofread by parents, friends and teachers prior to submission. A staff member will be on site at each workshop to assist with this.

Remember, not all colleges accept the Common Application, so make sure you find out what type of application is accepted by each school you intend to apply to!
