Incoming Students & Parents

Dear Holy Spirit Freshmen and Parents,
Congratulations on your graduation from 8th Grade and welcome to Holy Spirit High School! We are excited to welcome you to our campus.  I trust you are enjoying the well deserved summer after graduation and are already thinking ahead to your time at Holy Spirit. Please know that you are joining a dedicated, talented, and diverse community committed to
your success in high school and beyond.
As we prepare to welcome you to your high school experience, we wanted to remind you of some summer tasks that need to be completed. First, all of our students have a Reading List and Math Assignments for the summer months. Second, if you have not yet ordered your school uniform, there are three ways to do so: 1) by mail, 2) through Flynn & O'Hara's website, or 3) by visiting the Flynn & O'Hara Trunk Show on Thursday, August 1 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm, here at Holy Spirit. Flynn & O'Hara strongly suggests making an appointment if you intend to be present at the Trunk Show.
About mid-August, you will receive a copy of your class schedule as well as specific information regarding the first few days of school. Wednesday, September 4 is your first day of school and you will be the only class reporting that day. You should be in complete uniform - the girls wear the uniform skort, polo shirt, navy blue knee socks or navy blue stockings and uniform shoes.  The boys wear khaki Flynn & O'Hara uniform dress slacks with belt, polo shirts, socks and uniform shoes. Please be sure that the uniform is in accordance with the dress code policy, including the length of the skort (i.e., no shorter than three inches above the knee). The day will begin at 7:40 am and conclude at 2:05 pm. There will be bus transportation to and from school and bussing information will come later this summer from your local public school district, which determines bussing, as well as pick-up or drop off times and sites.
On your first day of school, the Big Brothers and Big Sisters will instruct and help you with some of your new daily routines. You will receive your class schedule, your locker and combination lock; you may leave your belongings in your locked locker. You will receive your Student Handbook which you must have with you throughout each school day. An abbreviated schedule of classes will be run so that you may visit each of your classes and meet briefly with your teachers. You will be our guest for lunch, and in the afternoon we will help you become acquainted with your school Chromebook. Dismissal will take place at 2:05 pm. Thursday and Friday will be full school days for all students.
We will have the opportunity to celebrate our Opening Liturgy on Monday, September 23 at 11:30 am with Bishop Dennis J. Sullivan as principal celebrant; parents are most welcome to join us for liturgy which will be held in our school auditorium.
All of us at Holy Spirit want your Freshman year to be the beginning of a great high school career and we look foward to meeting you on September 4!
Thomas J. Farren, Sr., Ed. D.
An important note regarding tuition:
All students enrolled in Holy Spirit High School must register with FACTS.  You received information about enrolling with FACTS Tuition Management when you registered to become a Holy Spirit student.  Please take time to enroll if you have not already done so.
