I can do all things through him who strengthens me. -Philipians 4:13
Tom Kresz is a 2008 graduate of Holy Spirit High School and earned a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education while competing as a NCAA Division 1 athlete at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA. Tom is an active member of Holy Trinity Parish.
A 4th grade In-Class Resource Teacher with the Egg Harbor City School District, Mr. Kresz also serves as coach to his school's cross country team, works with the after school program, and is a volunteer in Longport’s Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Kresz has been a member of the Longport Beach Patrol for the past fourteen years.
When asked to reflect on his days at Holy Spirit, Mr. Kresz shared these thoughts...
"During my time at Holy Spirit, I was fortunate to be taught by some outstanding faculty, fostering a desire to pass the knowledge and life skills taught to me to the next generation. The faculty at Holy Spirit inspired me to become a teacher. Just as the faculty at Holy Spirit did for me, I try to instill in my own students the importance of a well-rounded education that extends far away from the classroom. Two of the accomplishments I am most proud of during my years at Holy Spirit included being the recipient of the Vincent Brennan and Monsignor John J. Henry awards. These awards I cherish and hold close to my heart.
Athletics also played an important role for me while at Holy Spirit. Having participated in football, cross country and a state championship in swimming, I had the privilege of being a four year member of the men’s rowing team under Coach Welsh and Coach Stan Bergman. I went on to continue my rowing career at Saint Joseph’s University where I served as team captain during my junior year. After college, I came back to Holy Spirit to coach the boy’s novice program for one year."
