A Message from the Head of School

Mike McGhee

It is with great excitement and deep gratitude that I welcome you to Holy Spirit High School.

As I begin my second year as Head of School, I’m filled with a renewed sense of purpose and pride. Last year, we spent time listening, reflecting, and building a strong foundation for the future. Now, we move “From Reflection to Action”—committed to elevating every aspect of school life for our students and families.

Holy Spirit High School has always stood for something greater than just academics—it’s a place where tradition meets transformation. Here, our students are formed not only for success in college and career, but for a life of integrity, service, and faith.

Our mission is grounded in the belief that educating the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—is our sacred responsibility. That belief is brought to life every day through our Five Pillars:

  • Academic Excellence

  • Co-Curricular Excellence

  • Catholic Values

  • Community & Service

  • Character Formation

These are more than just words—they are the lens through which we make decisions, design programs, and shape the culture of our school. From rigorous academics to vibrant arts and athletic programs, from Catholic ministry to leadership development, everything we do is intentional, mission-driven, and student-centered.

Our team has spent the summer preparing boldly and thoughtfully: updating schedules, expanding student support, enhancing safety and discipline structures, and deepening our commitment to faith and service. We are focused, united, and ready.

But what truly sets Holy Spirit apart is not just what we teach—it’s how we teach, and why. We are a family, rooted in care and purpose. In our hallways, classrooms, and teams, your child will be known, supported, and inspired to become the best version of themselves.

This year, we double down on excellence—in academics, the arts, athletics, and most importantly, in building young people of character and faith. It is my honor to walk alongside our families in this journey and to lead a school community that believes in bold dreams, hard work, and the power of shared purpose.

Thank you for being part of the Holy Spirit family. We’re building something truly special here—and the best is yet to come.

With gratitude and faith,
