Mara, our Board of Trustee Chairwoman, holds a Bachelor's Degree in nursing from the University of Scranton (class of 1989) and is currently a substitute teacher at Assumption Regional Catholic School since 2008.
Mara is a huge supporter of Catholic Education, and would consider it one of her greatest passions. She has been involved with Holy Spirit High School for the last 10 years, with three of her children attending Holy Spirit High School (classes of 2015, 2018 and 2021) in addition to her husband, Dr. Stanley Marczyk, who is a member of the class of 82.
Her involvement at Holy Spirit over the years includes:
2013 - 2020 - Holy Spirit Mothers' Guild President
2013 - 2018 - coordinated and managed the concession stands for both the football and basketball seasons. She was responsible for stocking the stands, managed the money and communicated with and coordinated all the volunteers.
Jan 2019 - June 2019 - was the interim Director of Advancement at Holy Spirit. During this time she was also a part of the Principal search committee and was responsible for all of the advertising for the position. As Director of Advancement, she was responsible for the school's signature fundraising event, The Night at the Races, which she also chaired in 2019 and 2020.
2019 - present - served as a member of the Board of Trustees as Chair of the Advancement Committee. During the Centennial Celebration in the 2022-2023 School Year, she was the Co-Chair of all of the celebratory events that took place throughout the year. Mara was recently appointed by Father Perry Cherubini as the Board Chair.
