Giving to Holy Spirit

Methods of Giving

Did You Know? At most private Catholic schools, tuition does not actually cover the full cost of educating a student.

You can help by making a donation today!

The most common method of making a charitable gift is by cash, check or credit card. Donations to qualified charities, such as Holy Spirit High School, can be a benefit when you file your taxes.

Your support will go directly to:

✨ Educational programs

✨ Scholarships for all students to succeed

MATCHING GIFT OPPORTUNITIES
Many employers have matching gift programs that provide employees the opportunity to multiply your gift. We encourage you to check with your company or organization to see if Matching Gift opportunities are available.

TAX ADVANTAGES AND STOCK TRANSFER
A number of current tax laws encourage charitable giving. Holy Spirit High School is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and contributions to our school and campaign are tax deductible as allowed by law. !It can be particularly advantageous to contribute appreciated securities. For example, if you chose to contribute appreciated securities held more than 12 months, you could receive double the tax benefit by:
  • avoiding a capital gains tax which would be paid if the stock were sold, and
  • receiving a charitable deduction equal to the fair market value at the time of the gift as opposed to at the time of the purchase.
  • How to make gifts of Securities: Gifts of appreciated securities may have significant tax benefits. All gifts of securities are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The Diocese of Camden maintains a custodial relationship with PNC Bank, NA. for the purposes of transferring securities

    • The attached document details how gifts of Securities can be made to Holy Spirit High School.
PLANNED GIVING There are also many planned giving opportunities that provide donors additional methods of making a gift to the campaign, such as:
  • awarding gifts of assets including real estate, stocks, bonds, coins, etc.
  • naming Holy Spirit High School a beneficiary of your will
  • naming Holy Spirit High School as a beneficiary of a Life Insurance Policy.

If you would like to include Holy Spirit High School in your planned giving or estate planning, or if you would like to make a stock transfer to Holy Spirit High School, please contact Cathryn Flammer, Holy Spirit Advancement Director at 609-646-3000 x324.

As you prayerfully consider the gift level best for you and your family, please also consider this gift separate and apart from your current or ongoing financial support of Holy Spirit High School. Your generous annual giving helps support our much-needed operational expenses. For your convenience, payment reminders and envelopes can be mailed according to your payment preference.
