Michael Finnerty '98

A lifelong resident of Egg Harbor Township, Michael Finnerty is a proud graduate of Holy Spirit High School, Class of 1998. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Richard Stockton University and a Master’s Degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Mike is also a proud graduate of the FBI National Academy, class #283. After graduating Holy Spirit High School, he was afforded the opportunity to coach football at
Holy Spirit for a few years. Mike was also a Ventnor City Beach Patrol Lifeguard for 10 years to which he served as the President of the Ventnor City Beach Patrol Lifeguard Association from 2000 until 2003.

Mike currently serves as an Operations Captain for the Egg Harbor Township Police Department. He had also served as a SWAT Team Leader for the Atlantic County Swat Team. He was also a member of both the Police Unity Tour and Law Enforcement United. Both Organizations are committed to honoring Fallen Police Officers as well as supporting their surviving families.

In addition to his service to the Citizens of Egg Harbor Township, he has also been involved in service to his Community. He is the Chairman of the Police vs Firemen Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Golf Outing along with the “Salute the Shield” Golf Outing. Two outings he started to honor the two professions for their hard work and sacrifice. He is also a Past President of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick and the Chairman of their Scholarship Organization Golf Outing. He has also served on the Arthur Brown Scholarship Board as an Officer. Mike is an active member of the Holy Spirit Father’s Club. He is also a member of the McCullough’s Emerald Links Golf Board. Mike has also coached youth within the Egg Harbor Township Soccer Club. Mike truly embraces service to his Community to which he was honored in 2019 as an Atlantic City Weekly “Top 40 under 40” Honoree. A campaign designed to recognize outstanding volunteerism, community service, cultural enhancement and exceptional work ethics in sectors of society such as business, government, education, healthcare, hospitality and others.

Mike lives in EHT with his beautiful wife Jennifer, '91 and daughters Jordan '25 and Juliana.
