💙💛 A huge thank you to the HSHS Fathers’ Club for their incredible dedication and hard work during the Annual Spring Cleanup! 💛💙 We are truly grateful to everyone who came out to support our mission and help keep our school moving in a positive direction. From bulk removal around campus to shade work in the gym, sheetrock repairs in the boys’ locker room, painting in the baseball dugout, fence prep for the softball field, backstop repair, and full-campus trash cleanup—your time and effort made a huge impact. Father's Club President Mike Finnerty said it best: "At Holy Spirit, it truly takes a village—and we are blessed to have one that embraces our mission with heart and purpose. The village is our "why"—our reason for being, the foundation of our values, and most importantly, the reflection of the amazing people who make this community so special." 🗣️🎬 In Mr. Higbee’s class, students stepped into the role of teacher with their “How-To” speeches, where they demonstrated and explained a variety of skills and processes! From “How to Make Edible Cookie Dough” to “How to Read a Defense in Football,” topics included everything from athletics and arts to life skills and hobbies—like crocheting, pitching a baseball, playing the piano, performing basic first aid, and even tap dancing! 👟🎹🥎 This assignment helps students learn how to clearly organize and communicate a process so an audience can follow and understand. No matter the topic, the focus was on clarity, structure, and confidence in presentation. 🌸 As Catholics, we dedicate the month of May to honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary. 🌸 During this special month, we reflect on Mary’s unwavering faith, her example of humility and obedience to God’s will, and her powerful role as our spiritual mother and intercessor. At Holy Spirit High School, we celebrate Mary through daily prayer, classroom reflections, and special and acts of service inspired by her love and compassion. Mary shows us how to say "yes" to God with grace and courage. 🎶 Congratulations to the talented students of Holy Spirit High School who participated in the 15th Annual Esther C. Weil Student Music Competition! This prestigious event is open to students in grades 9–12 from Atlantic and Cape May counties, showcasing outstanding musical talent in four categories: female vocal, male vocal, piano, and instrumental. 🎓 Mr. Cortellessa’s business classes took an exciting trip to Saint Joseph’s University Haub School of Business! Upon arrival, 31 upperclassmen participated in a Food Marketing presentation and even got a taste of college life with a mock class. During the admissions segment, former Spartans Anthony Collova, Nick Rymas, and Sophie Sobocinski shared their experiences and insights. We were also thrilled to catch up with Spartan alumni Allie Lee, Anthony Solari, and Joey Kotakis during the campus tour. A big thank you to Emma Campbell from the Academy of Food Marketing for organizing such an incredible day!
